The present invention relates to an Ogura sterility DNA sequence which confers, when present in the cytoplasm of a plant, male cytoplasmic sterility to said plant. It also relates to a mitochondrial genome, a nuclear genome, a mitochondria and a cytoplasm containing this sequence. It also relates to a plant belonging to the genus Brassica containing this genome and a process for the preparation of hybrid plants using such a plant, and a hybrid thus obtained.
