INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANT FOR TRANSFORAMINAL POSTERIOR LUMBAR INTERBODY FUSION PROCEDURE

An intervertebral implant for fusing vertebrae is disclosed. The implant has abody with curved, substantially parallel posterior and anterior facesseparated by two narrow implant ends, superior and inferior faces having aplurality of undulating surfaces for contacting upper and lower vertebralendplates, and at least one depression at a first end for engagement by aninsertion tool. The arcuate implant configuration facilitates insertion of theimplant from a transforaminal approach into a symmetric position about themidline of the spine so that a single implant provides balanced support to thespinal column. The implant may be formed of a plurality of interconnectingbodies assembled to form a single unit. An implantation kit and method arealso disclosed.
