NON-HUMAN TRANSGENIC MAMMALS USED AS MODELS FOR HUMAN PATHOLOGIES ORIGINATING FROM STEM CELLS

The invention relates to non-human transgenic mammals which reproduce humanpathologiesoriginating from stem cells, e.g. chromosomal anomalies associated withchronic myeloidleukaemia, B-cell lineage acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, T-cell lineage acutelymphoblasticleukaemia, or the migration of hematopoietic or embryonic stem cells. Theinvention makes useof the expression of the genes involved in said pathology in human beings,employing apromoter which directs the expression of a transgene in cells Sca-1+. Theaforementionedtransgenic animals form a model which is used to study the above-mentioneddiseases and toevaluate compounds for treating and/or preventing said diseases.
