DIGITAL ENHANCED CORDLESS TELECOMMUNICATION (DECT) METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIGITAL TELEPHONY SELF INSTALL

A self-install model for installing digital telephony services at a userpremises uses a Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication ("DECT") systemhaving a base station and a cordless telephone. The self-install model enablestheactivation of telephony services at the user premises automatically through anInternetProtocol network of a service provider such that the user is able to make andreceivecalls at the user premises over a communication network upon activation of thetelephony services. The self-install model involves pre-tests to ensure signalstrengthof the connection between the user premises and the communication network;acceptance by the user to the service provider's terms and conditions forproviding thetelephony services to the user premises by way of messages from the serviceproviderbeing displayed on the cordless handset; activation of the telephony servicesby theservice provider; and post-install service verification tests.
