USE OF IMPROVED TOLUIDINE BLUE IN PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY

A method of treating oral cancer is provided. The method comprises the stepsof providing at least onephotody-namic treatment comprising the steps of (i) applying a compositioncomprising improved toluidine blue to oral cells; wherein thecomposition comprises a greater percentage by weight of the conformationalisomers of toluidine blue compared to theN--demethylated derivatives thereof; and wherein the composition localizes tooral cancer cells,- and activating the appliedcomposi-tion, thereby killing the oral cancer cells.
