Disclosed are a code providing method using a short message service, capable of transmitting codes with ease through a short message service, a code providing device using a short message service, a device for recognizing codes received through a short message, and a code capable of being transmitted through a short message. The code providing device includes an information providing module for providing information on a ticket for which a request for issue is made, a code generating module for converting the information of the ticket provided from the information providing module into a three-dimensional code in a text format which can be transmitted through a short message service, and a short message service transmitting module for receiving the three-dimensional code from the code generating module, generating a short message including the three-dimensional code, and transmitting the generated short message through a short message service. Accordingly, the code providing device can easily transmit a three-dimentional code through a short message service and reduce the cost of transmitting the three-dimensional code.
