The invention relates to direct cationic dyestuffs of formula (I), wherein W1 is -NR8- or -O-; X1 is N, CR9; R1, R2 are identical or different and represent a hydrocarbon chain, R3, R4 are identical or different and represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group or a hydrocarbon chain, R5, R6, R7, R8, and R9 are identical or different and represent a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon chain, L is a particular binding group and X is an organic anion or a cosmetically acceptable mineral. A tincting compound for colouring human keratinic fibres in an appropriate colouring medium, comprising the inventive dyestuff, a method for using said dyestuff and a multi-compartment device are also disclosed.
