The present invention relates to an anti-inflammatory composition containing extracts of the immature fruit of Rhus succedanea as active ingredients. The extracts of the immature fruit of Rhus succedanea of the present invention exhibit anti-inflammatory effects through inhibiting the generation of nitrogen oxide (NO), inhibiting the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), and inhibiting the activity and the expression inhibition activity of interleukin-1β(IL-1β) which is pro-inflammatory cytokine, and has no cytotoxicity. Therefore, the present invention can be valuably used in medicines for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases, in health food, or in functional feed.
