The aim of the invention is to create an interlocking guide for a gripper strip (19) of a gripper weaving machine. To this end, a projection (32) is provided on the side of the guiding element which faces a weaving reed during the mounting thereof into a gripper weaving machine (14), said projection being radially oriented in relation to the axis of a batten and being the part of the guiding element (25) that protrudes the furthest in the radial direction.
