In a system for feeding fluid into an exhaust gas after-treatment system, wherein during the operation fluid is fed via a feed line (18) of the dispensing unit (14) from a main container (16) and is partially returned via a return line (24) to the main container (16), a diaphragm pressure container (26) is provided on the feed line (18) downstream of a pump (20) and a non-return valve (22) toward the dispensing unit (14). During operation of the pump (20), the diaphragm pressure container (26) is filled with fluid. The diaphragm pressure container (26) is emptied as soon as the pump (20) stops operating. In this way, the dispensing unit is cooled even after the operation of the system (10) has ended, thereby protecting electronic components of the same from overheating.
