Catheter set for epidural or peripheral nerve block

The set has a flexible catheter (20) inserted by a cannula e.g. unipolar stimulation cannula. An electrically leading stimulation spike (22) lies at a distal end of the catheter, and a conductive connection of the spike is provided with a stimulation connection (32). A reinforcing guide (40) is arranged in the catheter and is positionable in its axial position in the catheter. A selectable distal flexible end area (b) of the catheter remains before a distal end of the guide. The cannula is made of soft electrically isolating plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for epidural or peripheral nerve blockage.
