The reed (1) has a cap (7) equipped with guiding tabs (77) guiding weft thread inserting rapiers that inserts weft thread in a shed, and blades (3) integrated with the cap. Each blade has an end (33) provided with a surface (321) inclined along an angle (alpha) with respect to a longitudinal axis (X33) of the end, where the angle is 90-160 degrees. The inclined surface is adapted to oppose detachment force of the cap with respect to the blade directed along parallel direction with respect to the longitudinal axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a reed for a shuttle loom.
