An adaptive configuration method and system for uplink and downlink subframe of cell are provided, the method includes: reporting the resource quantity represented the occupation condition of uplink and downlink subframe periodically by the under layer, calculating the deviation between the resource quantity corresponding to the present uplink and downlink subframe configuration and the resource requirement of the actual uplink and downlink, determining whether it is necessary to adjust the uplink and downlink subframe configuration according to the comparison between the deviation value and the preset threshold, choosing the appropriate uplink and downlink subframe configuration when the adjustment is needed. The system includes an under layer and a wireless resource control layer. The present invention is more flexible than the prior art, so as to achieve the effect of the resource sharing of uplink and downlink, and the system resource is saved, the utilization factor of system frequency band resource and the system capability are improved.
