The invention relates to a method for adapting the supply of reductant in an exhaust gas aftertreatment system comprising an SCR catalyst for removing nitrous oxides from the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine and/or a diesel particulate filter and at least one reductant supply unit, the reductant requirement of the reductant supply unit is determined during operation by the following steps: a) injection of a constant quantity of reductant by the reductant supply unit; b) integration of the reductant requirement since the addition of reductant carried out in step a); c) determination of an integrator value that exceeds the constant injection quantity of the reductant supply unit; d) release of the next injection of a constant quantity of reductant by the reductant supply unit; and e) subtraction of the quantity injected in step d) from the current integrator value. The invention also relates to an exhaust gas aftertreatment system for carrying out said method and to a device for controlling an exhaust gas aftertreatment system.
