PUCK-TYPE POINTING APPARATUS, POINTING SYSTEM, AND POINTING METHOD

The present invention relates to a puck-type pointing apparatus, to a pointing system, and to a pointing method. The apparatus comprises: a movement-sensing unit which senses an object that is brought into contact with a puck and moved, and outputs a movement sensed signal; a first filter unit which receives the movement sensed signal, filters the received signal to remove noise, and outputs a first puck movement signal which is delayed by a first period of time; a second filter unit which receives the movement sensed signal, filters the received signal to remove noise, and outputs a second puck movement signal which is delayed by a second period of time shorter than said first period of time; and a puck movement signal transfer unit which transfers or cuts off the first puck movement signal in response to the second puck movement signal according to the movement information. The present invention can easily detect the point in time when the object contacts the puck and stops the movement of the puck in the event the puck moves and returns to the original position thereof when the object is removed from the puck, thereby preventing an erroneous operation of the pointing apparatus caused by the continuous movement of a cursor.
