There are cases when the information medium control apparatus that is requesting copying and registration of electronic data is not the same apparatus as the information medium control apparatus that is acquiring the "child" management file created from the copying and registration. Even in such cases, an information management server apparatus (101): registers, in a mail box management table, a child management ID for the electronic data and a mail box ID for the destination to acquire the child management file, based on the information on copying and registration received from one of the information medium control apparatuses; and allows the other information medium control apparatus to acquire the child management file based on the mail box management table. Due to this, even when a client requesting copying of the management file desires to transfer the child management file to another client, the information life cycle of the child management file can be managed.
