A method for receiving and playing television program and a terminal with function of caching television program are disclosed in the present invention. During the procedure of receiving and playing television program in a terminal, the terminal caches the television program being currently received and played when the terminal needs to pause to play television program, and plays the cached television programs when the terminal can restart to play the television program. By means of the method and the corresponding terminal in the present invention, television programs can be cached according to the demands of users, and users are allowed to continue watching television program at convenient time instead of missing the program content. This terminal provided by the present invention can be not only a mobile phone, but also a TV set and a computer.
