The present invention relates to a method for identifying an individual with sleep disordered breathing comprising (a) assaying blood of said individual, wherein said blood is assayed for an abnormal level of at least two blood-based markers indicative of sleep disordered breathing; and (b) combining the results of (a) with at least one physical measurement marker, results of sleep-related questionnaires and/or at least one sleep index.
