The invention develops a known magnetic field sensor that operates according to the tunnel magneto resistance effect in terms of measuring technology in such a way that the sensor is excited using an alternating current of a predefined base frequency (f0) and amplitude (A), and the response signal of the resistance is measured at a frequency (f1) that differs from the base frequency (f0). The associated arrangement comprises means (55) for detecting and evaluating response signals. The current source (51) is an alternating current source and the means for detecting operate at a frequency (f1) that differs from the frequency (f0) of the supply current generator (51).
