The invention concerns a sealing unit (7; 9) for mounting on a post (3,4) for a guard rail bearing block (1), said sealing unit including a hollow wide-mouth socket (70; 90) extended by a sleeve (71; 91) designed for inserting the post over a part of the length thereof, the socket and the sleeve forming a monolithic body provided in a material which is non-toxic for persons. This sealing unit is characterized in that the socket (70; 90) has a contact face pre-impregnated with a substance enabling said socket to be secured by gluing to a support (50; 51). The invention also concerns a guard rail bearing block (1) comprising such a sealing unit (7; 9).
