The block (1) has a magnetic radial bearing (4) for bearing of a rotor shaft (7) of a rotating machine i.e. turbo compressor (10), and a safety bearing (5) for catching the shaft. The bearings are accommodated in a common bearing housing (2) in an axially adjacent manner. The housing is arranged with respect to an axial front side (S) of the machine in an axial and outside-lying manner. The housing and the bearings are designed in a separable manner in a constructive, axially running sectional plane (E), which coincides with a plane that passes through a rotational axis (A) of the shaft.
