The component (6) has an impeller blade array whose impeller blades (3) of free standing blade tip points (4) are directly arranged by forming a radial gap (11), where the component is made of a sheet metal. A closed cavity (12) is arranged in an axial section of the points. A balance material (14) is partly filled in the cavity. Melting temperature of the material is selected such that material makes a phase transition during starting and/or during stopping of an axial turbo machine (1). Thermal expansion speed of the component is approximated to an outer ring surface (7) at the points. An independent claim is also included for a method for retrofitting a housing component for a gas turbine in an axial turbo machine.
