Process for preparing, in dried form, fine coagulated powders of PTFE homopolymer or of melt-processable or non-melt-processable TFE copolymers, comprising: I) application of fine wet coagulated powders of the polymer in the form of a bed onto the surface of a metal belt, drying of the fine wet powders by means of passing a stream of air through the bed in the direction from the top of the bed to the bottom of the bed; the belt having a mesh size that allows passage of the air and that substantially prevents passage of the fine polymer powder; II) cooling of the dried fine powder; III) removal of the powder from the surface of the metal belt.
