The machine has a redundant sensor (153) for detecting a process parameter. A controller (151) includes a CPU (178) for controlling a process of the machine, and includes a main detection unit (172) for detecting a signal of a main sensor (168). A control detection unit (174) detects a signal of a control sensor (170). A communication module (180) compares the signals of the main- and control sensors, and transmits information and/or instructions corresponding to the comparison result to the CPU. The process parameter is selected from one of temperature of cleaning fluid in a cleaning zone, temperature in a thermo disinfection zone, fluid in a thermo disinfection zone, pressure and volume-flow of the cleaning fluid, concentration and/or amount of a cleaning agent, concentration and/or amount of a disinfection agent, concentration and/or amount of a rinse aid, and thermal equivalent.
