Method for modelling an underground heterogeneous medium using multipoint statistics

The method involves calculating a probability law of a categorical physical property from values taken by pixels of a pixel neighborhood. A categorical physical property value at a pixel of an image to be constructed is determined by carrying out random selection in the calculated probability law. Image representative of distribution of the categorical physical property is constructed by repeating calculating probability law and determining the categorical physical law for each pixel of the image to be constructed. The constructed image is displayed on a computer.
