PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the degradation of display quality by controlling the common voltage when the inversion mode is changed.;CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of data lines, gate lines, and liquid crystal cells receiving the data voltage and the common voltage. A timing controller(11) controls the polarity of the data voltage charged in liquid crystal cells. The timing controller generates the polarity control signal and the inversion mode signal for converting the polarity reversing cycle of the data voltage. A common voltage generator(14) controls the common voltage in response to the inversion mode signal. A data driving circuit(12) converts the digital video data to the data voltage and supplies the data voltage to the data lines. A gate driving circuit successively supplies the gate pulse to the gate lines.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
