PURPOSE: A device for processing a large size image into scaled image tiles and a method therefor are provided to reduce the usage of a memory.;CONSTITUTION: An image interpreter(111) writes out an index for a partial access. By using image conversion information necessary for conversion process, a preprocessor(113) generates the tile arrangement information for each scale. Finally, a small unit converter(115) creates a self-image tile by downscaling the transferred tiles after receiving the tiles for original scale from the image analyzer. An output processor(117) transfers collected information to a storage medium after collecting the tile arrangement information inputted in the preprocessor.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
