PURPOSE: A composition for discriminating petroleum and a method for discriminating the petroleum are provided to prevent attenuation of function and discriminate through coloring meter or with eye.;CONSTITUTION: A composition for discriminating contains crystal violet lactone compound of chemical formula 1 fluorescent and organic solvent. In the chemical formula 1, R1 and R2 are different of same, are straight carbon atoms of 1-6 or pulverized alkyl group. The inorganic solvent is methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, t-butyl alcohol, hexane, benzene, and toluene.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
