PURPOSE: A double discharge type shell accelerator is provided to enable the long-distance flight of a thin and long shell by efficiently accelerating the shell. CONSTITUTION: A missile-shaped shell(1) and an inner explosive(5) are mounted to the inside of a cylindrical body(2). One side of the cylindrical body is closed. A disk-shaped pressure plate(3) and a plurality of wings(4) are attached to the outer surface of the cylindrical body. The pressure plate keeps the explosive pressure, and accelerates the shell and the accelerator. A hole(6) is formed at the bottom of the cylindrical body. An exploder(14) is inserted into the hole. A capsule-shaped accelerator mounted with a long shell is fired. Then, a second explosive installed in the accelerator is exploded so that the long shell is separated from the accelerator.
