An apparatus and a method for coping with IP(Internet Protocol) multimedia spam in an Internet protocol multimedia service providing network are provided to construct an expanded IP multimedia application server having no relation with an application layer or a service type of sub-network to cope with spam. An apparatus for coping with IP(Internet Protocol) multimedia spam in an Internet protocol multimedia service providing network includes a service broker(110) for classifying all calls by application services, a spam controller(131) for exchanging policy and database information differently applied by the application services to perform security management and verifying whether each of all the calls classified by the service broker has spam, a policy and database management interface(140) for transmitting a policy to the spam controller, and a resource manager(160) for managing resources required for the spam controller.
