PURPOSE: A method for controlling forward collision warning and mitigation system are provided to minimize the five classics high and malfunction. CONSTITUTION: The electronic control unit(30) produces the brake avoidance distance and steering avoidance distance. The electronic control unit decides the collision risk by using the brake avoidance distance and steering avoidance distance. According to is the collision risk, the electronic control unit performs the collision warning or the automatic braking. The brake avoidance distance produces the acceleration, relative velocity, reinforcing acceleration, delay time and target species acceleration value for speed. The steering avoidance distance produces the speed, the relative velocity, and the delay time and goal side acceleration value.
