PURPOSE: An automatic geometry correction method for multiresolution satellite images is provided to carry out reliable automatic geometry correction by applying SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) to satellite images.;CONSTITUTION: A local extrema is extracted as feature point(S200). A direction and scale are calculated using adjacent pixels and SIFT technique is applied to match the extracted feature point(S300). A match point error is removed through repetitive RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) calculation and the coefficient of the final transform model is determined(S400). Images are rearranged and automatic geometry correction is carried out(S500).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
