PURPOSE: An adaptive filter tab determination device, a method thereof, a wavelet transform device thereof, and a recording medium thereof are provided to determine a filter tap minimizing high band energy by considering not only existence of boundary but also location of boundary.;CONSTITUTION: A partition unit(310) divides an input signal into even and odd numbered poly phase pixels. An updating unit(330) updates even numbered poly phase pixels based on the even numbered poly phase pixels to obtain updated even numbered poly phase pixels. An adaptive filter tab determiner(350) determines a filter tap minimizing high band energy based on existence and location of boundary in sequence pixel line inputted from the updating unit. An estimator(370) predicts the odd numbered poly phase pixels based on the determined filter tap and the updated even numbered poly phase pixels and to obtain remaining odd numbered poly phase pixels.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
