MONITORING SYSTEM DETECTING DANGEROUS OBJECTS FALLING FROM A RAILWAY USING A STEREO CAMERA AND A THERMAL IMAGE CAMERA AND A METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A monitoring system detecting dangerous objects falling from a railway using a stereo camera and a thermal image camera and a method thereof are provided to improve a reliability of the whole system by determining dangerous objects without delay and minimizing a decision error about the dangerous objects.;CONSTITUTION: A stereo camera(110) obtains image information on the monitoring area including the train domain. A thermal image camera(120) obtains thermal image information on a monitoring area. The fallen object detecting module(220) detects the fallen object within the fixed critical regions fixing in the train domain based on at least one of the image information and thermal image information. If the fallen object is detected in the critical regions, a dangerous object determining module(240) compares the fall object with the dangerous object giving impediment to the normal train movement based on the image information and the thermal image information.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
