PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to maintain driving data of an internal memory and an external memory identically by retransmitting the driving data of the external memory to the internal memory if an error occurs after checking the error of the driving data using a checksum comparing method.;CONSTITUTION: A first storage unit stores driving data and first checksum data for driving a display panel. A second storage unit(202) stores the driving data and the first checksum data from the first storage unit by instructions from a ROM interface(201). A data error detection/correction unit(203) generates second checksum data based on the driving data stored in the second storage unit and includes a checksum generator(203a) and a checksum comparator(203b). The checksum comparator generates the driving data and supplies the driving data to the ROM interface if the first checksum data is different from the second checksum data.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
