BROADCAST RECEIVER AND A METHOD FOR CONVERTING BROADCASTING CHANNEL OF DTV, CAPABLE OF ENABLING THE AUTOMATIC CHANGE OF CHANNELS

PURPOSE: A broadcast receiver and a method for converting broadcasting channel of DTV are provided to enable the automatic change of channels without searching of channels by a user using broadcast information included in a broadcast signal, thereby offering better channel selection method to a user.;CONSTITUTION: A broadcast receiver includes a first tuner(101), a second tuner(201), a data storage unit(150), a user interface(190), a control unit(160), a channel configuration unit(170), and a display unit(180). The first tuner receives a broadcast signal of a channel selected by a user. The second tuner periodically scans a background channel with a transmission method different from the transmission method of a broadcast signal received to the first tuner. The data storage unit stores each broadcast information by linked list method through which comparative search is possible. The user interface inputs a channel shift key about same program during watching a broadcast program provided through the first tuner. The control unit compares and decides broadcast information of a background channel scanned through the second tuner stored in data storage unit. The channel configuration unit configures the channel of same broadcast program binding based on channel numbers and video/audio packets IDs. The display unit outputs a screen comprising the channel of same broadcast program configured by the channel configuration unit according to the channel shift key.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
