PURPOSE: A method and a device for controlling the synchronization of cylinder/piston units and reducing pressure peaks during forming and/or fine blanking on a fine blanking or stamping press are provided to improve cycle rate and speed by synchronizing the cylinder/piston unit with a ram. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the synchronization of cylinder/piston units and reducing pressure peaks comprises following steps. A cylinder/piston unit(1) is continuously maintained at cushion pressure(P1) which is regulated in advance by an accumulator(10). The cylinder/piston unit is controlled by the outlet pressure which is regulated in advance. The pressure is set up as the pressure for forming and/or blanking and the pressure changed between the cushion pressures by supplying control oil to a second accumulator(19). The rise of the pressure due to the collision of the tool and the workpiece discharges the pressure pulse to a tank, so the pressure is controlled to allowable configuration pressure.
