PURPOSE: A scanner, an image forming device which includes the same, an image processing method of the scanner, and a printing method of the image forming device are provided to obtain document images with good quality when a cover is in an opening state.;CONSTITUTION: A scanner obtains an environmental image(S10). The scanner determined whether main scan should be performed when a cover is in an opening state(S30). If the main scan is performed when the cover is in an opening state, the scanner extracts a document image from a main scan image based on the environmental image(S40). The scanner transmits the extracted document image to an external device(S60). If the main scan is not performed in the cover is in an opening state, the scanner transmits the main scan image to the external device(S50).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
