PURPOSE: A line commutation type fault current limiter is provided to protect a load by limiting a current remained in a main circuit during a half period after fault current is generated.;CONSTITUTION: A fault current sensor(110) is electrically connected to a main circuit. A superconductor(120) for limiting a current is electrically connected to the fault current sensor. The superconductor for limiting a current is quenched by the fault current. A line commutation switch(130) forms a bypass path in the fault current sensor when the fault current is generated. A current-limiter(140) is electrically connected to the bypass path in order to limit the fault current. The fault current sensor bypasses the fault current to the bypass path when the fault current is generated.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
