PURPOSE: An apparatus for setting a thrust value of a tailstock and a measuring method thereof are provided to prevent the separation or deformation of a workpiece in a processing process.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for setting a thrust value of a tailstock comprises a display/input unit(218), a load measuring unit(208), a servo controller(206), and a CNC(Computer Numerical Control) unit(30). The display / input unit indicates the thrust setting screen of tailstock. An impellent force value is inputted in the display / input unit. The servo controller outputs a load value of the servo motor. When the tailstock forward command is inputted, the CNC unit runs the servo motor and moves the tailstock at a preset feed speed. If the load values of the servo motor outputted through the servo controller is the same with the establishment impellent force value, the CNC unit transmits the drive breakpoint instruction of the servo motor to the servo controller.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
