PURPOSE: A rhodamine derivative with copper ion selectivity and a method for detecting copper ion using the same are provided to change UV/vis absorbance and fluorescence.;CONSTITUTION: A rhodamine derivative has copper ion selectivity and is denoted by chemical formula 1. The rhodamine derivative is fixed on a platinum film for copper ion detection. The copper ion is detected using rhodamine derivative.
