PURPOSE: A method and a system for selecting optimal capacity of distributed power are provided to effectively calculate the optimal capacity of the distributed power in a power system which has large system or connected by mesh by calculation and time of small amount. CONSTITUTION: A sample value obtainer(710) obtains the distributed power capacity which minimize a power loss and the power loss values among combination of individual distribution power capacity sampled by a fixed interval. A distributed power capacity estimator(730) uses Kalman filter which regards combination of the distributed power capacity as a measured value to presume the capacity of individual distribution power. A power loss estimator(740) user the Kalman filter based on the capacity of the presumed individual distribution power to presume a power loss value according to the distribution power capacity.
