PURPOSE: A shampoo and rinse composition containing the root of Nelumbo nucifera Gaetner hot water extract is provided to ensure moisturizing, whitening, and anti-inflammatory effects without causing side effect. CONSTITUTION: A shampoo and rinse composition contains hot water extract of the root of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner. The extract is isolated at 90-96C and 27-32 ml/g for 8 to 12 hours. A shampoo contains 3 weight% of hot water extract of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner root, 0.03 weight% of EDTA-2Na, 0.1 weight% of polyquaternium, 4.05 weight% of Ammonium lauryl sulfate, 15.5 weight% of Ammonium laureth sulfate, 6.0 weight% of cacamido propyl betaine, 2.0 weight% of propylene glycol, 2.0 weight% of sodium xylene sulfonate, 0.15 weight% of methyl paraben, 3.0 weight% of glycol distearate, 1.0 weight% of cocamide DEA(diethanolamine). Or 0.13 weight% of salicylic acid.
