PURPOSE: A system and a method for optimal partitioning in hierarchical clustering are provided to automatically recognize the number of clusters according to the preset conditions in order to calculate the number of optimized clusters.;CONSTITUTION: A clustering index producing unit(130) calculates a clustering index whenever processing a grouping operation based on certain criteria collected for hierarchical clustering. A clustering division number judgment unit(150) judges the grouping point, which has maximum clustering indexing result among the plural index results, as a grouping division point.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
