PURPOSE: A method for compensating pixel data, control unit performing for the method and a display apparatus having the same are provided to improve image quality by compensating pixel data of an input image by using the luminance of a pixel close to a real image.;CONSTITUTION: A representative value of image blocks is extracted from a pixel of an input image. Image blocks is divided to correspond to the light source blocks. The duty of the light-emitting block(B) is determined by using the represent value of the blocks. Pixel luminance is calculated by using a luminance profile and the duty of the light-emitting block according to a projection region. A light guide plate irradiates the light when driving a represent light-emitting block. The pixel data of the input image is compensated based on the luminance of the pixel.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
