PURPOSE: A display apparatus and a method thereof are provided to supply a new application to user by providing information and advertising comfortable for playing contents in an external device through inter-device interlocking.;CONSTITUTION: A first communication unit(210) performs communication with an external device. A second communication unit(220) performs communication with a contents providing server. An image processing unit(240) processes the related information of the contents. A control unit(230) controls the first communication unit in order to obtain the reference information of the contents from the external device.
