MODIFIED CLAY, A TREATING METHOD THEREOF, CLAY-POLYMER NANOCOMPOSITE AND A MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Modified clay is provided to delaminate a silicate layer using a very effective method and to be used for easily manufacturing a nanocomposite due to lower resistivity by aligning an alkyl chain in silicate direction. CONSTITUTION: A method for modifying clay includes a step of mixing a first modifying agent including two or more hydroxyl groups and a second modifying agent which is alkyldiisocyanate with carbon number of 2-10 and a step of combining the first modifying agent, silanol, and the second modifying agent. The clay is montmorillonite, bentonite, hectorit, fluorohectorite saponite, beidellite, nontronites, stevensite, vermiculate, volkonskoite, magadiite, kenyalite, or their derivative.
