PURPOSE: An authentication device utilizing device recognition information in ubiquitous environment and a method thereof are provided to perform strengthened authentication in case of a service request or authentication of a user.;CONSTITUTION: A home gateway(100) and an office gateway(300) registers and manages user authentication information delivered from an information reader. The home gateway and the office gateway perform service control through user authentication confirmation. An integrated authentication center(120) asks and receives the user authentication information from the home gateway and the office gateway about a user authentication request of a specific system.
