PURPOSE: A wireless charging system and a wireless charging method are provided to maintain optimum charging efficiency regardless of the position of a portable terminal by moving a first coil of a charging pad to the position corresponding to the portable terminal.;CONSTITUTION: A wireless charging system includes a charging pad(100) and a portable terminal(200). The charging pad comprises a first coil, a sensor(160), and a driving unit. The first coil generates a magnetic field by receiving power. The sensor checks the position of the portable terminal. The driving unit moves the first coil to the position corresponding to the position of the portable terminal. The portable terminal includes a second coil and charges the battery by using the current induced in the second coil by the magnetic field of the first coil.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
