PURPOSE: A two-stage muffler installed in the suction and discharge pipes of a compressor and an air conditioning apparatus comprising the same are provided to effectively reduce noise from the discharge pipe of a compressor.;CONSTITUTION: A two-stage muffler installed in the suction and discharge pipes of a compressor comprises a discharge pipe muffler(21). The discharge pipe muffler is connected to the discharge pipe(23) of a compressor and is inserted into the suction pipe muffler(11) connected to the suction pipe(13) of the compressor. The volume of the suction pipe muffler is equal to or larger than the sum of the volume of the suction pipe muffler in the case there is no discharge pipe muffler inserted and that of the discharge pipe muffler. The noise emerging from the discharge pipe of the compressor is first reduced at the discharge pipe muffler and is second reduced by the suction pipe muffler covering the discharge pipe muffler.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
